The St. Louis Cardinals (38-30) hold a clear edge over the Minnesota Twins (32-40) entering the rubber match of their three-game series at Target Field, fueled by superior overall record and a surging offense that erupted for three homers in the seventh inning of a 9-6 win on June 13. Cardinals starter Michael McGreevy (3-5, 2.99 ERA) brings stronger recent results than Twins counterpart Taj Bradley (5-3, 4.02 ERA), while St. Louis has posted high run totals in recent games. Minnesota’s thinner roster includes multiple injured pitchers on the 60-day IL, limiting bullpen depth. The outcome hinges on whether the Twins can exploit home conditions and capitalize on any Cardinals bullpen fatigue after a high-scoring series.
