Recent developments have positioned the Milwaukee Bucks as open to trading Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft, with ownership signaling that an extension or deal are the two primary paths forward. This shift follows a disappointing draft lottery outcome and leaves the two-time MVP on an expiring contract structure that creates leverage for a potential move. Trader consensus has elevated the Miami Heat to the leading destination due to their combination of young talent, draft assets, and Eastern Conference fit, while the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks rank next on implied probabilities tied to their contending windows and roster flexibility. Other contenders like the Orlando Magic and Dallas Mavericks appear in the mix for similar reasons of asset availability and stylistic pairing, though uncertainty around any extension agreement keeps probabilities fluid across the field.
