Recent polls have shown Democratic nominee Brian Poindexter leading incumbent Republican Max Miller by double digits in Ohio’s 7th District, shifting trader consensus toward the Democratic Party. The district supported Trump by 11 points in 2024, and Miller won his prior reelection with just 51 percent amid an independent challenge. Late July reporting on abuse allegations involving Miller’s ex-wife has coincided with further erosion in his standing and Poindexter’s gains. With the November general election approaching, these polling trends and candidate-specific developments have driven the current implied probabilities reflected in market pricing.
