Arsenal enter the 2026-27 Premier League season as defending champions and clear market leaders for a top-four finish, backed by squad depth and continuity under Mikel Arteta following their title win. Manchester City remain the primary challengers despite the transition to Enzo Maresca after Pep Guardiola’s departure, retaining elite talent like Erling Haaland while adding midfield reinforcements. Liverpool, Chelsea under new boss Xabi Alonso, and Manchester United form the next tier, with each navigating managerial changes, variable recent form, and differing European schedules that could influence consistency. Early season results have reinforced Arsenal’s position while highlighting volatility among the chasing pack, and the closing transfer window offers further scope for roster adjustments before the campaign settles into a multi-team race for Champions League qualification.
