Utah’s 3rd congressional district remains closely contested in trader pricing ahead of the November general election, with the Republican nominee favored by a slim margin over Democrat Kent Udell. The June 23 Republican primary between incumbent Celeste Maloy and challenger Phil Lyman has created short-term uncertainty over candidate strength and messaging in a sprawling district redrawn under court-ordered maps. Lyman’s appeal in rural southern counties and Maloy’s incumbency record could shape general-election turnout and swing-voter support. With both parties’ nominees now set, late primary results, fundraising differentials, and any shifts in national midterm sentiment represent the main variables that could widen or narrow the gap before Election Day.
