The Kansas City Royals visit the Washington Nationals for a three-game interleague series at Nationals Park beginning June 15, with both clubs navigating injury challenges and middling records. The Royals sit at 27-39 in the AL Central, missing key contributors including shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (knee), catcher Salvador Perez (thumb), and outfielder Jac Caglianone (shoulder), all listed day-to-day. Several Royals starters, including Cole Ragans, remain on the injured list with elbow issues. The Nationals hold a 33-33 mark in the NL East and continue to manage a depleted pitching staff featuring multiple starters on the IL with shoulder and elbow ailments. Home-field factors, bullpen availability, and how quickly the Royals’ stars return will shape lineup and rotation decisions heading into the matchup.
