Multiple songs sit in a dead heat for the number two spot on the US Spotify chart for the week of September 4, with several tracks carrying nearly identical implied probabilities near 50%. Recent streaming velocity, playlist adds, and social engagement metrics have kept contenders like Olivia Rodrigo’s “the cure” and “Stupid Song,” Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” and “Jolene,” and Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings” tightly bunched, reflecting balanced promotional pushes and audience retention. Daily chart updates, midweek velocity swings, and any late viral boosts or radio spikes remain the key swing factors that could separate the field before final positions lock.
