This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Recent momentum for orbital AI data centers stems from terrestrial power constraints and successful early demonstrations. Starcloud’s November 2025 launch of an NVIDIA H100 GPU enabled the first AI model training and Gemini inference in space, followed by its August 2026 $250 million raise at a $2.3 billion valuation to scale toward 20 GW capacity via an 88,000-satellite constellation. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman’s August 27 proposal highlighted orbital solar power as a way to advance both AI and space leadership, while SpaceX, Google (Project Suncatcher prototypes targeted for early 2027), and Blue Origin (Project Sunrise) have filed FCC applications for large constellations with initial deployments eyed as soon as 2028. These filings, combined with Starcloud’s planned 2027–2028 hardware iterations, frame trader focus on whether regulatory approvals, launch cadence, and radiation-hardened hardware timelines can deliver operational inference-scale facilities within the market window.
