The Bank of Korea’s recent back-to-back 25 basis point hikes to 3.00%, driven by July core inflation at 2.6% and upgraded 2026 GDP growth to 3.3%, anchor the elevated odds for no change or a further quarter-point increase at the November meeting. Persistent price pressures above the 2% target, supported by semiconductor-led exports and housing market risks, have shifted the board’s dot plot toward a 3.25% median endpoint by year-end, with analysts citing incoming October data on nominal GDP and September inflation as key inputs. Trader positioning on Polymarket reflects this hawkish but measured path, tempered by expectations of a gradual pace after the August move.
