Josh Rock enters the 2026 New Zealand Darts Masters opener as the narrow favorite at 56% implied probability, reflecting trader consensus on his superior recent form and world ranking of eighth. The 25-year-old Northern Irishman has captured multiple PDC titles in 2025-2026, including the World Cup of Darts and Austrian Darts Open, while maintaining tournament averages above 95 with strong checkout percentages. Veteran Simon Whitlock, 57, brings extensive big-stage experience and home-region support after winning the ANZ Premier League, yet his major-event results remain more variable with typical averages in the mid-80s to low-90s. Head-to-head history favors Rock in prior World Series meetings, though the best-of-11 format leaves room for Whitlock's proven resilience to keep the contest competitive.
