Peyton Watson’s restricted free agency remains fluid as the 23-year-old wing seeks a larger contract after a breakout 2025-26 campaign limited by injury. The Nuggets’ reported four-year, $70 million offer with a team option falls short of his expectations, keeping open the possibility of a sign-and-trade to contenders such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, or LA Clippers. With no remaining cap-space teams able to extend an offer sheet, the market reflects a tight cluster of probabilities because multiple suitors could still facilitate a deal that satisfies both Watson’s desire for minutes and pay and Denver’s need for assets, while the alternative of accepting the one-year qualifying offer preserves his unrestricted status next summer.
