Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Nigeria on January 16, 2027. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Nigerian presidential election. This market includes any potential second round. If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by Nigerian government sources, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (https://www.inecnigeria.org/).Bola Tinubu holds the strongest position among traders as the incumbent APC candidate seeking re-election on January 16, 2027, backed by control of most state governorships and National Assembly majorities. The September 12 INEC final candidate list formalized a fragmented field of 18 contenders, with Peter Obi running on the NDC ticket alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar on the ADC with Rotimi Amaechi, Omoyele Sowore on the AAC, and numerous minor-party entrants, confirming the absence of a unified opposition challenge. Recent state-level projections and defections to the APC have reinforced expectations of Tinubu prevailing in key regions, while Obi's 2023 performance sustains his secondary standing amid economic and security concerns. Low probabilities for other listed candidates reflect limited national infrastructure and polling visibility ahead of the vote.
