Trey McBride enters the 2026 NFL season as the Arizona Cardinals' clear top tight end and primary short-area target after setting the single-season record with 126 receptions in 2025. New head coach Mike LaFleur's West Coast scheme emphasizes McBride's receiving skills in a manner reminiscent of George Kittle, with early camp reports highlighting expanded route concepts and play-action opportunities. Jacoby Brissett is expected to open as the starting quarterback following Kyler Murray's departure, providing continuity in volume, though rookie Carson Beck could factor in later. Competing targets from Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, plus a new offensive coordinator and schedule strength, introduce variables that could moderate per-game catches from the prior year's elevated totals despite McBride's status as the uncontested TE1 on the depth chart.
