Traders see a wide-open race for the #2 spot on Spotify’s 2026 year-end artist chart because Bad Bunny’s commanding lead for #1 has left a tight pack of consistent heavyweights—Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and others—separated by slim margins in year-to-date streams. Mid-year data shows these acts trading positions based on new releases, catalog surges, and touring cycles, with no single artist posting the sustained dominance that usually locks in the runner-up slot. Monthly listener spikes for Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars add further volatility, while Eminem’s lower odds reflect weaker current trajectory. Upcoming album drops, summer festivals, and fourth-quarter push strategies will likely decide the final order before December tallies close.
