Andres Martin, ranked 277 and coming off mixed recent results on clay, faces 31-year-old David Jorda Sanchis in the first round of the Istanbul Challenger. Jorda Sanchis, currently 351 in the ATP standings, defeated Martin 6-4, 6-3 just one week earlier in the Oeiras qualifying round on the same surface. The matchup pits Martin’s higher ranking and experience against Jorda Sanchis’s strong recent form and direct head-to-head advantage on red clay. Both players enter with limited prior success at this level, making serve consistency and baseline rallies key factors in what projects as a competitive opening-round contest.
