Both players advanced with straight-sets triumphs in earlier rounds—Piros over Josip Šimundža and Neumayer against Diego Dedura-Palomero—showing sharp form without dropping sets for the Austrian (No. 191). Piros boasts a superior career clay record (66.6% wins), though Neumayer thrives on the surface too (60.8% at Challenger/ITF level). No injuries reported; a tight matchup looms with serve holds and baseline rallies key on the slower Zagreb courts.
