Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, the No. 58-ranked defending champion on home clay at the BNP Paribas Primrose Bordeaux Challenger, advanced to the round of 16 with a gritty 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 comeback win over Otto Virtanen yesterday, showcasing his big-serving prowess despite an early stumble. Aleksandar Vukic, ranked No. 99 with a modest 2-5 record in 2026 including a recent Rome Masters loss to Tommy Paul, upset Rinky Hijikata in three sets to reach this stage, but his clay form remains inconsistent. Their head-to-head stands at 1-1, with Vukic's prior win on hard courts; expect a baseline battle influenced by Perricard's crowd support, serve advantage, and surface familiarity ahead of Roland Garros tune-up, though Vukic's aggression could force tiebreaks on the slower clay.
