Pavel Kotov holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge over Yi Zhou from their three-set Beijing Challenger clash last fall, fueling trader consensus toward the 27-year-old Russian despite similar current rankings around No. 220-250. Entering the Busan Challenger round of 32 on outdoor hard courts, Kotov carried momentum from a strong showing in his prior event, notching wins over Matteo Martineau, Murphy Cassone, and Borna Gojo in March, while the 21-year-old Chinese Zhou endured recent qualifying defeats to Kody Pearson and Giles Hussey. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals noted pre-match, though Zhou's second-set retirement at 6-1, 2-0 underscores potential fitness concerns; both thrive on hard courts, with Kotov's top-50 experience and stylistic matchup advantages shaping implied probabilities.
