Stephen Bunting enters the 2026 KenoGO Australian Darts Masters first-round matchup as the clear favorite against local qualifier Mal Cuming, with traders pricing his implied win probability at 67.5%. Bunting, ranked ninth worldwide and a consistent PDC performer, brings strong recent form from the 2026 Premier League Darts—where he secured two nightly wins, including a dominant 6-3 victory over Luke Humphries—and solid showings in earlier majors. Cuming, a 50-year-old Australian Tour regular with modest averages and limited exposure to elite international competition, replaced an injured Darren Penhall in the field. The matchup highlights Bunting’s superior ranking, experience on the big stage, and scoring consistency against an opponent whose results remain confined primarily to domestic events. No significant injury concerns affect Bunting ahead of the August 21 contest.
