Recent softening in labor demand, highlighted by June JOLTS job openings falling to 7.359 million below expectations, underpins the closely matched probabilities across the 7.1M–7.7M+ bins for July. Traders weigh this decline against May’s 7.594 million reading and broader indicators, including a 4.2% unemployment rate and stable but subdued hiring and separation rates. Mixed sector trends and potential revisions add uncertainty, while upcoming data releases and any shifts in monetary policy expectations could swing the final print. Market-implied odds reflect real-capital consensus on these competing forces ahead of the September 1 release.

The resolution source for this market will be the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey report released for July 2026 (https://www.bls.gov/jlt/), currently scheduled to be released on September 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data.
Note: the resolution source for this market will be the official monthly JOLTS report, which reports job openings in thousands of openings.
