The Michigan U.S. Senate race between Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers remains highly competitive heading into the November general election, with Oakland County emerging as a pivotal suburban battleground. Recent primary results showed El-Sayed prevailing narrowly statewide after a tight contest with Haley Stevens, who carried Oakland by a modest margin, while Rogers faced no primary opposition. Current polling averages indicate a near tie or slight El-Sayed edge statewide, reflecting divided voter preferences on economic issues, healthcare, and the open seat dynamics following Gary Peters’ retirement. Trader consensus around 47-50% probabilities for leading contenders captures uncertainty over turnout among independents and suburban moderates in this county. Upcoming debates, fundraising momentum, and any shifts in national political environment could widen gaps by influencing swing voter blocs.
