Kawhi Leonard's strong preference for returning to the Toronto Raptors, where he won the 2019 NBA title and earned Finals MVP honors, underpins the market's heavy weighting toward that outcome. Reports confirm the Clippers agreed in late June to send the 35-year-old All-NBA forward to Toronto for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, and multiple future first-round picks amid Los Angeles's shift toward a younger roster and reluctance to offer a long-term extension on his final contract year. Leonard has signaled he would commit only to the Raptors (or Spurs) for an extension and has participated in unofficial workouts with Toronto players while voicing optimism about contending in the Eastern Conference. The deal remains stalled pending an NBA investigation into potential cap circumvention, though completion would likely trigger a two-year extension. Unlikely disruptions include the trade being voided or Leonard altering his stance, but current developments point to Toronto as the consensus landing spot.
