Magomed Ankalaev’s next opponent remains unannounced following his fifth-round TKO of Bogdan Guskov in July, leaving light heavyweight options wide open amid an unsettled title picture. Former champion Carlos Ulberg’s ACL injury has sidelined him until 2027, while Ankalaev has repeatedly called out Paulo Costa, who recently finished Azamat Murzakanov and is negotiating his final UFC bout. Costa’s contract situation and Ankalaev’s public responses have kept that matchup prominent in discussions. Other ranked contenders such as Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg appear in the mix, but no official booking or strong consensus has emerged. The even pricing across multiple names reflects this lack of confirmed developments and the division’s fluid contender landscape.
