Maja Chwalinska enters this Roland Garros qualifying second-round clash as the higher-ranked player at No. 116, bringing strong clay-court credentials that include multiple ITF and Challenger titles on the surface along with an impressive 2026 win rate exceeding 65 percent. She opened qualifying with a dominant 6-0, 6-3 victory over Alice Rame, showcasing efficient baseline play and solid movement on the slower Paris courts. Carole Monnet, ranked No. 195 and playing on a wild card, advanced past Polina Iatcenko in three tight sets but carries a more mixed recent record and limited success at WTA level on clay. Their head-to-head tilts slightly toward Monnet, yet Chwalinska’s superior recent form and experience in Grand Slam qualifiers position her as the clearer favorite in this matchup.
