Both advanced yesterday via straight-sets Q1 wins—Dedura-Palomero upsetting higher-ranked Luca Van Assche, Bonzi defeating wildcard Darwin Blanch—building momentum into the decider for main draw entry. No head-to-head history exists. Bonzi's recent qualifying losses at Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte-Carlo highlight form concerns, while Dedura-Palomero's left-handed spin and youth offer upset potential amid Madrid's fast-bouncing conditions.
