Felix Gill enters the Roland Garros qualifying first round on clay with a clear edge in recent form and ranking, sitting near No. 237 after reaching his first Challenger final in Pune earlier this year and posting a strong 2026 win rate. The 23-year-old Brit has shown consistent results on outdoor surfaces, contrasting with Aziz Dougaz’s struggles, including multiple recent losses in Tunisian and African challengers that leave the 29-year-old Tunisian at around No. 666 with limited success in 2026. Neither player has prior head-to-head history, and the match marks a key opportunity for ranking points and main-draw progression on the slow red clay of Court 5. Late showers in Paris could influence ball speed and footing, while both competitors face the typical qualifier pressure of securing early momentum on a surface that rewards steady baseline play and endurance.
