Sydney Swans host Brisbane Lions in an AFL qualifying final at the SCG, where even implied probabilities reflect a balanced contest shaped by Sydney’s strong ladder finish and home advantage against the Lions’ superior finals experience and depth. Sydney enters with the league’s potent forward line led by Charlie Curnow but must navigate major absences from five suspended players, including key contributors like Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner, forcing greater reliance on emerging talent and remaining midfield options such as Errol Gulden. Brisbane, a recent premiership side with proven September pedigree, arrives after consistent late-season results and strong defensive structures that previously dismantled Sydney at the Gabba. Recent Swans wins despite the disruptions have kept market sentiment tight, while any confirmed lineup stability or injury recoveries for either side could shift the narrow edge in this high-stakes elimination matchup.
