Ligue 1's sixth-placed team typically secures the UEFA Conference League play-off spot (or seventh if the Coupe de France winner already qualifies higher), with the 2026-27 campaign just underway after the August kickoff. Early table positions remain fluid with zero matches completed for most sides, though promoted sides like Angers and Auxerre alongside Brest and Le Havre sit atop provisional rankings. Key drivers include pre-season transfer activity, squad depth for the long 34-game schedule, and head-to-head records among mid-table clubs fighting for European spots. Recent form from the prior campaign, home/away splits, and any late managerial or injury updates will shape the race, as the wisdom of crowds in the market reflects consensus on which clubs possess the roster quality and schedule resilience to finish in that narrow band.
