This market will resolve to “Yes” if Mike Locksley ceases to be the head football coach at the University of Maryland for any length of time between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Mike Locksley’s resignation or firing before the market’s end date will immediately resolve this market to “Yes”, regardless of when the announced resignation or firing goes into effect. This market’s primary resolution source will be official information from the University of Maryland and/or Mike Locksley; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Maryland athletic director Jim Smith publicly confirmed in November 2025 that Mike Locksley would return for the 2026 season, citing a strong young nucleus and plans to increase financial and NIL support for the program. This commitment came despite a disappointing 2025 campaign marked by a six-game losing streak and overall records around 4-6.
