This market will resolve to “Yes” if Mike Locksley ceases to be the head football coach at the University of Maryland for any length of time between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Mike Locksley’s resignation or firing before the market’s end date will immediately resolve this market to “Yes”, regardless of when the announced resignation or firing goes into effect. This market’s primary resolution source will be official information from the University of Maryland and/or Mike Locksley; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Maryland athletic director Jim Smith publicly confirmed in November 2025 that Mike Locksley would return as head coach for the 2026 season, with the university committing additional NIL funding and program resources to support roster retention and recruiting. This followed another 4-8 campaign that extended the Terps' struggles in Big Ten play (6-21 over the prior three seasons) but maintained an 18-game non-conference win streak. Locksley's contract extends through at least 2026 with a relatively manageable buyout, and recent spring ball activities under his direction show continued stability in the program.
