Trader consensus heavily favors the Los Angeles Chargers at 90.5% implied probability for David Njoku's 2026-27 team after the veteran tight end signed a one-year, up-to-$8 million prove-it deal with Los Angeles on May 11, following nine seasons and a Pro Bowl nod with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns drafted a rookie to replace him and confirmed no re-signing in February amid cap constraints and roster rebuild, while Njoku's visit to Chargers preceded the quick agreement, pairing his receiving prowess (career-high 81 catches in 2023) with Justin Herbert in Jim Harbaugh's offense lacking a proven TE1. Scenarios challenging this include preseason injury landing him on injured reserve, an unexpected mid-summer trade for draft capital, or roster cut if younger options like Oronde Gadsden outperform, though such outcomes remain low-probability given the skin-in-the-game pricing.
