This market will resolve according to the fighter that is ranked first in the UFC Pound-For-Pound rankings on December 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. If, for any reason, there is no fighter ranked first in the UFC Pound-For-Pound Rankings at this market’s check-time, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the UFC (https://www.ufc.com/athletes).Islam Makhachev holds the strongest consensus as the projected UFC pound-for-pound leader at the end of 2026, driven by his undefeated streak since 2021, recent move to welterweight, and dominant unanimous decision win over Jack Della Maddalena in November 2025 that solidified his championship status there. Multiple rankings place him at No. 1 entering mid-2026, reflecting sustained elite grappling, finishing ability across weight classes, and minimal recent setbacks compared to peers. Alexandre Pantoja sits second in the market due to his flyweight title defenses and consistent performances, though his lighter division limits broader pound-for-pound impact. Recent upsets, including Justin Gaethje’s TKO of Ilia Topuria and Ciryl Gane’s stoppage of Alex Pereira at UFC Freedom 250, have dropped those fighters in official and media rankings, tempering their longer-term probabilities amid questions about title paths and recovery. The wisdom of crowds in the market prices in Makhachev’s track record of handling top competition while accounting for the inherent volatility of future matchmaking and potential injuries.
