The Seattle Mariners hold a narrow edge in the AL West at roughly 37-35 while the Baltimore Orioles sit near .470 in the AL East, making the upcoming three-game set at T-Mobile Park a matchup between a division leader and a club chasing wild-card positioning. Mariners momentum from an earlier 11-of-14 surge has cooled after splitting the June series in Baltimore, where they dealt with injuries to J.P. Crawford and Matt Brash. Baltimore’s power bats, led by Pete Alonso’s recent long balls and contributions from Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson, have kept games close despite a sub-.500 record and poor road splits. Starting pitching matchups, bullpen availability, and home-field factors at Seattle’s park figure to shape outcomes in the remaining contests.
