Borna Gojo holds the edge in experience and recent results entering this Roland Garros qualifying first-round match on clay, where the 28-year-old Croatian sits at a career-high ranking of 172 after capturing multiple Challenger titles in 2026, including strong showings on clay surfaces. The 22-year-old Frenchman Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg, ranked around 260, brings recent momentum from a 2025 Challenger crown in Quimper and solid junior-to-pro transition results, though his latest outing ended in a three-set loss. Both players lack extensive head-to-head history on this surface, and the outcome will hinge on Gojo’s ability to leverage his higher ranking and baseline consistency against Gueymard Wayenburg’s power and home-country familiarity in the early stages of the qualifying draw.
