Pierre-Hugues Herbert enters this Roland Garros qualifying opener as the clear trader favorite against Kaichi Uchida, buoyed by his status as a French home player on familiar red clay and a recent run that included a win over Dusan Lajovic in Aix-en-Provence. Ranked near 213, Herbert brings greater clay-court experience and a career-high singles ranking in the top 40, while Uchida, around 244, arrives with five straight losses and no clay victories in 2026. The pair has no prior head-to-head, leaving recent form and surface comfort as the primary drivers of market positioning ahead of their scheduled meeting on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.
