James Duckworth, the higher-ranked Australian veteran at world number 81 with a career-high of 46, meets rising Lithuanian prospect Edas Butvilas in the Geneva Open qualifying final on clay. Both players advanced on May 16 by securing straight-set victories in their opening rounds—Duckworth over Miguel Damas and Butvilas over Alexandre Muller—setting up a contest where Duckworth’s greater ATP experience and clay-court consistency face off against Butvilas’s youth, aggressive baseline play, and recent lower-level momentum. No injuries or late withdrawals have been reported, leaving surface adaptation and fitness as the primary variables in this decisive match for main-draw entry.
