The resolution source for this market will be official information from the Amazon Web Services Health Dashboard (https://health.aws.amazon.com/health/status).AWS service disruptions frequently stem from internal infrastructure issues rather than external attacks, with recent examples including a May 2026 US-East-1 outage triggered by a data center thermal event that caused cooling failures, power loss, and impairments to EC2 and EBS. Earlier incidents, such as the October 2025 DynamoDB DNS resolution failure and March 2026 widespread service impacts, highlight how latent software defects or configuration problems in core components can cascade across dependent services and regions. Traders should watch for patterns in high-traffic periods, hardware reliability in key availability zones, and AWS's post-incident reports that clarify root causes like network load balancer monitoring subsystems. Competitive pressures from Azure and Google Cloud emphasize rapid recovery and redundancy best practices, while upcoming factors such as seasonal demand spikes or new service rollouts could test these systems further.
