BJP’s decisive victory in the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections, where it secured a majority and led in 102 of Kolkata’s 144 municipal wards, has established strong trader consensus around its prospects in the upcoming KMC polls. The assembly results prompted the resignation of the prior mayor, dissolution of the Trinamool-led board, and appointment of an administrator, clearing the way for fresh elections after ward delimitation. With the BJP now controlling the state government and launching an intensive outreach campaign ahead of the November vote, market pricing reflects this momentum and organizational advantage in urban Kolkata. AITC and other parties trail sharply in the implied probabilities. Late shifts in turnout, delimitation outcomes, or unexpected opposition coordination remain the main variables that could narrow the gap before polling.
