The 49ers entered Week 2 at 1-0 following a dominant win in Australia, while the Dolphins sat at 0-1 after a disjointed opener, setting up a matchup where FOX announcers focused heavily on San Francisco’s offensive efficiency and Miami’s defensive breakdowns. Brock Purdy’s near-perfect passing and rushing contributions, combined with Christian McCaffrey’s scoring runs and George Kittle’s red-zone targets, aligned with pregame emphasis on the 49ers’ skill-position depth. Miami’s edge rush limitations after Chop Robinson’s absence and secondary assignment errors drew repeated commentary, as did the Dolphins’ offensive line pressures and limited third-down success. Recent 49ers receiver injuries added sideline discussion points without derailing their rhythm. These elements shaped trader expectations around frequent references to the 49ers’ early-season form and the visitors’ ongoing adjustments under new coaching.
