Andrej Nedic and Sergey Fomin meet in the first round of the Istanbul Challenger on clay, where their recent head-to-head record gives Fomin a clear edge after he defeated the younger Montenegrin 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the Shymkent Challenger semifinals last month. Nedic currently holds the higher ranking near 267 compared to Fomin’s 290, but the 21-year-old has shown strong clay-court form in 2026 while the 25-year-old Moldovan brings experience and improved recent results on the surface. Both players enter with solid momentum from the spring swing, and factors such as rest between matches, serve consistency on the slower courts, and any late adjustments to the draw will influence how the contest unfolds.
