Pavel Kotov holds the edge in this Busan Challenger first-round matchup on hard courts, driven by his stronger recent form and higher ranking compared to Yi Zhou. Kotov arrives after consistent results across recent hard-court events, including deep runs that highlight reliable serving and baseline stability. Zhou, by contrast, shows mixed outcomes in lower-tier events and limited experience against established ATP players, with no notable head-to-head history to shift expectations. Surface conditions in Busan favor aggressive play, where Kotov’s experience provides an advantage, though Zhou could capitalize on any early errors. No major injury reports or schedule disruptions have altered the setup ahead of the match.
