Arno Merk enters the Players Championship 27 matchup as the clear favorite, with traders assigning him a 90.5% implied win probability over Scott Williams. Merk’s recent trajectory includes a breakout PDC World Championship run where he defeated established names like Kim Huybrechts and two-time world champion Peter Wright before falling to Michael van Gerwen. He secured a full Tour Card via Q-School early in 2026 and has posted competitive averages in Pro Tour events. Williams, a more experienced campaigner with a prior World Championship semi-final appearance, has shown inconsistent recent form across Players Championships and exited the 2026 World Championship in the second round. Head-to-head results favor Merk, including a prior 6-4 win, while Williams has struggled to maintain momentum against in-form opponents on the Pro Tour circuit. No reported injuries alter the baseline assessment.
