**Trader consensus on the Mega Charizard X ex from Phantasmal Flames currently leans toward a price decline by August 31, with the “Down” outcome holding a 57.5% implied probability.** Recent market data shows the raw near-mint copy trading in a volatile $690–$750 range after earlier swings between roughly $500 and $1,000, reflecting post-hype cooling following the set’s strong initial collector demand. Supply pressure from the modern chase card’s print run, combined with broader TCG market softening in July and August for comparable high-profile Charizard variants, has contributed to the cautious sentiment. Listings and recent sales indicate softening momentum rather than sustained upward trajectory, while graded examples (particularly PSA 10) have shown more resilience but still face volume-dependent fluctuations. Key near-term catalysts include ongoing TCGPlayer and marketplace updates through the end of the month, any late-summer promotional activity, and general collector sentiment heading into September. The modest tilt toward downside reflects expectations of continued short-term correction after the card’s volatile debut phase, tempered by Charizard’s enduring pop-culture appeal that historically limits deep or prolonged drops.
