This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by WNBA rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 WNBA season is cancelled, postponed after October 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the Women’s National Basketball Association; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year market stays tightly bunched because multiple perimeter and frontcourt players have posted elite early-season defensive metrics without a clear statistical separator. Angel Reese leads the league in rebounding while anchoring Atlanta’s paint protection, Cameron Brink generates high block rates for the Sparks, and Ezi Magbegor, Brittney Griner, Alanna Smith, Aliyah Boston, and Gabby Williams each deliver strong steal, block, and defensive-rating contributions on competitive rosters. Reigning co-winner Smith’s move to Dallas and A’ja Wilson’s established track record keep them in the mix, yet no single defender has pulled away after roughly one month of play. Trader consensus therefore reflects this balanced field of proven defenders rather than any dominant individual performance.
