Baez, a proven clay specialist despite an 8-9 surface record this season and overall 18-13 mark, brings greater experience on the slower red dirt where he has historically thrived. Michelsen, currently ranked 42nd with a 14-12 record, arrives on a three-match losing streak and has managed just two clay victories in seven tries this year. Neither player shows strong recent momentum, yet Baez’s tactical comfort on clay and history of grinding out wins in similar conditions shape the current trader consensus reflected in implied probabilities. The outcome will likely turn on which competitor sustains longer rallies and converts break opportunities on the outdoor clay courts.
