Vincent Keymer enters the late stages of the Super Chess Classic Romania as the clear frontrunner in trader consensus, driven by his strong classical form and early tournament results that include a win over wildcard Bogdan-Daniel Deac and a hard-fought draw against Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu. The 10-player round-robin at classical time control features a deep field of grandmasters, where recent momentum favors the German number one, currently ranked among the world’s top five, while others like Jorden van Foreest and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu sit close behind on the strength of consistent results and prior Grand Chess Tour experience. Alireza Firouzja’s medical absence from round four has further compressed probabilities for lower-priced contenders, underscoring how small edges in preparation, head-to-head history, and rest can shift outcomes in this high-stakes classical event.
