**Peter Mbah (listed as Mbah Peter Ndubuisi) holds an 88% implied probability as the frontrunner for the 2027 Enugu State governorship, reflecting trader consensus on his strong positioning ahead of the February 2027 poll.** He defected from the PDP to the APC in October 2025 and secured the APC nomination in a May 2026 primary with over 96% of votes cast by hundreds of thousands of party members across all wards. Multiple groups, including Ohanaeze Ndigbo Enugu, the Northern community in the state, and stakeholders across senatorial zones, have endorsed his re-election bid, citing infrastructure delivery such as over 1,500 km of roads, new transport terminals, smart schools, and primary healthcare centers. Adherence to Enugu’s rotational zoning tradition for a second term has further consolidated support, alongside alignment with the federal APC under President Tinubu. Minor candidates, including James Ene Nwannaji (NDC, 6.5%), Dona Nwogbo (5.5%), and Geoffrey Uchechukwu Nnaji (PDP-linked, 1.3%), face fragmented opposition and limited reported momentum as of mid-August 2026, with other party efforts such as ADC candidate affirmations remaining marginal in current assessments. Upcoming INEC processes and any late coalition shifts could still influence final ballot dynamics.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Enugu State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
To be elected Governor, a candidate must satisfy the requirements under Nigerian law, including receiving the highest number of votes cast and the constitutionally required geographic distribution of votes. If no candidate wins the election outright, this market will remain open to account for any further election or runoff, provided this occurs before the resolution deadline. If no candidate has been officially elected by the resolution deadline, this market will resolve to "Other".
This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.
