The wide-open nature of the MLB runs leader market stems from roughly six weeks remaining in the 2026 regular season and a cluster of high-OBP power hitters with substantial remaining plate appearances. James Wood leads with 100 runs for the Nationals, but recent injury concerns and regression risk keep his implied probability low among traders. Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Kyle Schwarber, and Yordan Alvarez trail closely in runs while posting strong walk rates, extra-base hits, and favorable lineup protection that sustain scoring opportunities. Ben Rice and others benefit from team run environments and speed elements, though historical patterns show late surges or slumps can shift totals quickly in a competitive field where no single player holds a decisive edge.
