Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Miami on September 18 points to a high near 85–88°F amid scattered to likely thunderstorms and easterly flow, aligning with the market's concentration on 86–87°F and 88–89°F outcomes. Persistent moisture, cloud cover, and afternoon convection from the typical late-summer pattern can suppress peak readings below the 89°F climatological average, while breaks in storms or delayed development allow brief warming toward the low 90s. Key variables include storm timing and coverage, which determine whether maximum temperatures reach or exceed 90°F, and minor shifts in steering winds or instability that could alter heat buildup. Updated model runs and official briefings ahead of the date will refine these probabilities.
