Abdul El-Sayed holds an 87.5% implied probability of carrying Kent County in the November 3, 2026, Michigan Senate general election against Mike Rogers at 12.5%. El-Sayed secured the Democratic nomination after a narrow August 4 primary victory over Haley Stevens, winning Kent County by 27 points amid strong support in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas that have trended left in recent cycles. Statewide polling averages show El-Sayed leading Rogers by 3–5 points in a tossup race for the open seat vacated by Gary Peters, with Kent County's mix of suburban and urban voters aligning more closely with Democratic primary patterns than broader Republican-leaning western Michigan. Minor-party and write-in options remain at even money but lack organized support to alter the two-candidate dynamic. Upcoming debates and fall advertising could still shift county-level margins before Election Day.
