Incumbent Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez advanced from the August 4, 2026, top-two primary alongside Republican state Sen. John Braun in Washington’s 3rd district, a competitive seat with a Cook PVI of R+2 that Donald Trump carried in 2024 yet Perez held with 51.7% two years earlier. Recent Emerson polling showed the pair nearly tied in hypothetical general-election matchups, while Cook Political Report and other forecasters rate the race a toss-up or lean Democratic. Trader consensus reflected in current pricing appears driven by Perez’s incumbency edge, strong fundraising, and the typical midterm dynamic favoring the opposition party, though the narrow polling margins and district’s partisan lean leave room for shifts ahead of the November 3 general election.
